Yuri Shchurov was one of the strongest young prospects in Russian mixed martial arts, who could have had a great career, but retired early. He even defeated Anatoly Tokov on the reality show M-1 Fighter, but this wasn’t included in the official record. On June 6, 2012, at the M-1 Challenge 33 Battle in the Mountains tournament, he fought the undefeated, tough Polish fighter Rafal Lewon.
