Alexander Butenko is one of the most frequented professional fighters in the post-Soviet space, who fought in almost all famous Russian and Ukrainian promotions. From a young age, he was actively engaged in martial arts under the guidance of his cousin Alexei Oleinik and won many competitions in combat sambo and jiu-jitsu. A true master of painful and suffocating techniques, he has already fought 71 fights in the professional arena for 13 years and is clearly not going to stop there.
Today we will see one of Alexander’s early fights. It took place in 2009, when Butenko played for the Moscow team in the Russian team championship in mixed martial arts M-1 Selection. At the Battle on the Neva tournament, the Moscow team led by Oleinik was opposed by the Crazy Bears team from Perm
Butenko’s rival was Andrey Zubov. And Igor Filipovich Petrukhin, paired with the legendary Igor Vovchanchin, who was the guest of honor at that tournament, will be commentating on this fight for you!
