The main task of a referee in mixed martial arts is always to preserve the health of athletes who fight in the Octagon or in the ring. The ability to recognize danger in time or to clearly react to the end of a fight has always distinguished high-class performers in this profession. But among thousands of different fights, every year there are those that give rise to many disputes – whether the referee was hasty with the decision. One of such cases, which for many years caused controversy among experts and fans, took place at the M-1 Challenge 23 tournament, in which the young and promising Magomedrasul “Frodo” Khasbulaev from Khabib Nurmagomedov’s team and the famous German fighter Daniel Weichel met.
