Itβs been a lot of hyped and entertaining fights between the world-class athletes in M-1 during its 23-year history. But the fight between Vyacheslav Vasilevsky and Ramazan Emeev took a very special place in M-1 history and in Russian MMA history in general.
It was one of the most hyped and long-awaited fights in 2014. Honorary master of sports in combat sambo, Vyacheslav Vasilevsky came back to M-1 after his 2-year long tour in Bellator and S-70, got two impressive victories against Brazilian opponents and was ready to take back M-1 title that he once had.
Ramazan Emeev from well-known Gorets team was reigning M-1 middleweight king. He was Eurasian pankration champion and won in 11 of his 13 pro MMA fights. He came to the fight against Vasilevsky having 8-fight winning streak and M-1 belt that he won and successfully defended in two fights against the highly ranked UFC veteran Mario Miranda.
This fight had a long history, because these two opponents fought with each other before. Vyacheslav won against Ramazan at the national hand-to-hand combat championship, but Ramazan took a revenge at the national complex fight championship, so it was 1-1 and the fight for M-1 belt had to decide who is the true champion.
So, it was a real championship fight, where two warriors took on each other in a bloody battle. It was deservingly recognized as the best fight of the year-2014, and later Vasilevsky and Emeev fought again, this fight you will watch at our channel as well.
