Most fans of mixed martial arts know the story of the one-armed fighter Nick Newell, who successfully performs at the highest level and was even the champion of the XFC organization. But few people know that in South Korea there is an equally unusual athlete.
On June 1, 2017, the international tournament M-1 Challenge 79 was held in St. Petersburg, where Alexander Shlemenko crushed his principal rival Brandon Halsey. At the same time and in the same place, the battle of the rising star from the Republic of Kalmykia Bair Shtepin took place. For him, this was the third fight in the M-1 Global rank and a real moment of truth, because he lost the previous two fights by decision of the judges, although in both he demonstrated amazingly beautiful and effective striking techniques and a desire to fight to the end.
His opponent was the champion of the TOP FC tournament, the Korean fighter Wong Jun Jang, nicknamed Hellboy, whose track record included 4 victories in 5 professional fights. But until the Korean arrived in the Northern capital, none of the organizers even realized that this guy had another feature. A difficult conversation took place, and Hellboy answered the questions asked that this had never stopped him from performing in various types of martial arts. He applied a huge amount of taping bandages and plasters to his hand and put on fighting gloves, masking his peculiarity, after which he defeated very strong opponents. The character and willpower of this athlete were definitely worth paying tribute to and it was decided that the fight would take place.
