On March 30, 2019, the international mixed martial arts tournament M-1 Challenge 101 took place in Almaty, the same one where Arman Ashimov fought the undefeated Kaik Alencar. Another undefeated prospect, this time from France, Pierre Lude, came to Kazakhstan with an excellent track record of five early victories in a row. Three times he forced his opponents to surrender and twice knocked them out. And his opponent was chosen to be the world champion in jiu-jitsu and champion of Kazakhstan in hand-to-hand combat Asu Almabaev, who was able to loudly declare himself at the M-1 Challenge held in Atyrau several months earlier, defeating Kirill Fomenkov with a choke.
