Alexander Povetkin vs. Dillian Whyte was a heavyweight boxing match for the interim WBC heavyweight title, which Whyte held at the time of the bout, and the previously uncontested WBC Diamond title. The bout took place on August 22, 2020, at Matchroom Fight Camp in Brentwood.

The fight saw mixed results. In rounds 1–3, Whyte threw lead jabs, most of which Povetkin took. Alexander himself landed punches to his opponent’s head and body, but failed to hurt him. Early in the fourth round, Whyte landed several punches (the last of which was a left hook), knocking the Russian down. Late in the round, Whyte landed a low blow to Povetkin’s head, sending him back to the canvas. However, just a minute into the fifth round, Alexander Povetkin unleashed a flurry of punches, ending with a left uppercut. As a result of this blow, Dillian Whyte fell unconscious to the ring canvas. The fight was awarded to Alexander Povetkin by TKO5 (technical knockout in the fifth round).
