Bob Sapp has always been perceived as a huge, oversized fighter with a very impressive appearance, showman’s manners and questionable fighting data. However, he also had sensational victories and cool fights. Although, basically, the American beast was most often called for his impressive height and muscle mass.
However, there were cases when Sapp was put with such opponents, against which he looked almost tiny. And one such case occurred in 2005, when Bob competed in the K-1 Heroes tournament series.
His opponent was seven-time world champion in arm wrestling and world champion in amateur sumo Alan Karaev. The future president of the Russian Sumo Federation then decided to test his strength in mixed martial arts and counted on his enormous physical strength, two-meter height and almost 180 kilograms of fighting weight.
