Karl Amoussou was one of the most feared European fighters in the mixed martial arts arena. An aggressive fighting style and a desire to always finish the fight ahead of schedule were his hallmarks. At the very first M-1 Challenge tournament in history, which took place in Holland, he met Fedor Emelianenko’s student, world sambo champion Dmitry Samoilov, as part of a team meeting between Russia and France.
