Now, when the European football championship is on its way, it’s a good time to remember that many top MMA fighter player football on quite serious level and they even could become the pro footballers instead of fighters.

Mairbek Taisumov is one of them. When he moved to Austria with his family, Mairbek played for the football team from Second Austrian Bundesliga as a forward and scored 26 goals in 32 matches. But then MMA took him over and Mairbek moved from talented football player to one of the most promising and entertaining knockout artists in European MMA. Taisumov won M-1 Western Europe Grand Prix in convincing fashion and became one of the top lightweight fighters in M-1.

Tonight we are going to show you the fight where Taisumov’s football skills were very useful. On June 2, 2021 at M-1 Challenge 40 in Ingushetian mountains his opponent was very experienced Finn Niko Puhakka, who had not only the impressive collections of tattoos on his body, but also the titles of KSW Grand Prix winner and winner of the multiple Fight Festival tournaments. Puhakka had over 40 pro fights in his resume by this moment.
