At the tender age of 21, Elias Mahmoudi has already won three prestigious Muay Thai World Titles. But tragedy would strike on the eve of the phenom claiming his third strap. While training for a Muay Thai Grand Prix, the young Algerian would receive a call from his dad informing him that his beloved grandfather was coming down with an illness. Mahmoudi was not able to halt his training camp immediately, but he eventually made a point to visit his mentor. Unfortunately, his visit came less than a day too late, as his grandfather passed away the morning he returned home. Though Mahmoudi went on to win the tournament, the emotions of his greatest loss overcame him in the ring, as he dedicated the bout to his grandfather. The striking sensation now has yet another opportunity to honor his late hero, taking on Thai phenom Petchdam for the ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Title at ONE: WARRIORS OF LIGHT in Bangkok.
