With the eyes of the watching world on him, Eddie Alvarez weathered an early storm to secure his place in the ONE Lightweight World Grand Prix finals at ONE: DAWN OF HEROES. The bout began at a blistering pace, as Eduard Folayang set the tempo with a flurry of kicks, one of which connected flush to Alvarez’s thigh, sending him crashing to the canvas. Folayang swarmed with ground-and-pound, but “The Underground King” was able to expertly reverse the position and take the Filipino’s back. From there, the American sinked in a tight rear-naked choke to force the tap from Folayang in the very first round.
