Just recently, Alexander Emelianenko defeated a young video blogger and finally returned to his winning ways in POP MMA, after which it was announced that he would fight every month from now on.
Today, we’ll recall the days when Alexander competed professionally and fought against fighters with UFC experience. And that wasn’t all that long ago, just five years ago.
In 2018, at a tournament for RCC, one of Russia’s largest promotions, Alexander faced the young and talented Czech heavyweight Viktor Pešta. At the time, this fighter was only 27 years old, but he had five UFC fights under his belt, notching victories over heavyweights like Konstantin Erokhin, Alexey Kudin, and Alexander Gladkov. He preferred to fight standing, had eight knockout victories, and was completely unafraid to trade blows with the formidable Alexander Emelianenko.
