In what proved to be a “Bout of The Night” contender, Chan Rothana passed the greatest test of his career yet with a decisive win over Gustavo Balart at ONE: DREAMS OF GOLD. The Cuban powerhouse set the hectic pace for the bout as he sought to use his superior wrestling to get the action to the ground. Though Balart found success early on in the bout, his output visibly slowed in the final round as the Cambodian superstar pounced on the tired Cuban and connected effectively with his trademark Kun Khmer strikes. In the end, Rothana’s late rally proved to be telling as he was awarded the unanimous decision victory.
