In the more than 20-year history of M-1 tournaments, there have been many colorful and controversial fighters who made a spectacle of their fights or distinguished themselves with unconventional entrances.
One of them was Japanese fighter Yuji Hisamatsu, known for his menacing and brutal nickname “Pink Typhoon,” who came to St. Petersburg in December 2003 to compete in the Russia vs. World 7 tournament.
His opponent was the rising 21-year-old Denis Komkin, nicknamed “The Siberian Bear,” whose heavyweight bouts you’ve likely already seen on our channel.
