This fight was a landmark event for the MMA industry in the CIS. Future Russian sports star and multiple world champion in combat sambo, Vyacheslav Vasilevsky, representing the Sambo-70 team, entered the range against a true monster from Poland. Tomasz Narkun was undefeated at the time, had a 100% finish rate, and looked like a true anthropometric giant in the cage, outsizing our fighter.
The outcome of this title fight was incredibly spectacular and dramatic! The enormous Polish fighter tried to use his size and jiu-jitsu skills, but Vasilevsky thwarted his opponent’s plans. Vyacheslav applied his signature pressure, destroying his opponent in clinches and landing devastating strikes while standing. In the second round, the intensity of the Siberian strikes reached a critical point—the Polish giant simply broke under the pressure, refusing to continue the fight! The official verdict: Vasilevsky won by technical knockout (TKO / verbal submission) at 3:23 of the second round, capturing the first-ever M-1 Challenge light heavyweight belt!
