Shavkat Rakhmonov, nicknamed “Nomad”, is a real phenomenon in the world of mixed martial arts. Very soon he will have another fight in the UFC tournament, which, as we all hope, he will once again complete with a confident victory.
And today we will go back to the time when he was 19 years old. And by this age he had already won everything possible in competitions under the auspices of the WMMAA – he became the champion of Kazakhstan, Asia and the world. He also started his professional career well – two victories in the first round in two fights. Shavkat’s mature and calculating fighting style baffled almost any opponent.
At the M-1 Challenge 59 tournament, which took place on July 3, 2015, his opponent was a similarly promising prospect from Poland. 21-year-old Michal Wincek was the champion of the prestigious Berserkers Arena Grand Prix tournament. He made his debut in rage against the unyielding Rustam Gadzhiev at the M-1 Challenge 56 tournament. The stubborn fight lasted almost the entire allotted time, the initiative passed from one fighter to another and yet, 30 seconds before the final bell, the Polish fighter managed to perform a winning choke. Now Michal faced a new challenge – in the person of the undefeated young world champion.
