Vladimir Mineev is currently one of the strongest and most popular fighters in Russian mixed martial arts. From a young age, he was involved in striking martial arts and won a huge number of titles in kickboxing. Vladimir became the champion of Russia, Europe and the world, and also won and defended belts in the most prestigious world versions of professional kickboxing. Vladimir served under contract in the 31st Guards Brigade of the Russian Airborne Forces and since 2021 he has been appointed Deputy Chairman of the Central Board of the Union of Paratroopers of Russia for physical education, sports and martial arts. In 2014, he made his debut in mixed martial arts and began his ascent to superstar status in the Fight Nights Global promotion. Mineev knocked out his first three opponents in the first round and in his fourth fight he met the powerful and unyielding Croatian grappler Josip Perica, who had five wins in six fights. This fight took place in April 2015 in Khabarovsk at a joint tournament of the Far Eastern Pankration Federation and Fight Nights.
