Jeff Monson, Fedor Emelianenko, Alexander Emelianenko – they all were the top MMA heavyweights. Their fights always gather the huge hype in MMA fans community. Entertaining and hard fights between the legends have always been the true magnet for the fans.
It’s been the recent news that 50-year old Jeff Monson is still driven by MMA competition that much, so he is ready to make the rematch against Alexander Emelianenko. A couple months before that he told that he is not opposed to the possible rematch against Fedor Emelianenko as well. The first fight against Fedor was quite one-sided, so there wouldn’t be too much interest to the rematch. Meanwhile, the second fight against AE sounds like a real thing, especially in this crazy time. It could get a lot of views on YouTube, Alexander just needs to fight against Artem Tarasov first and Monson has the upcoming fight against Oleg Taktarov.
Tonight we have a chance to watch agains the first fight between AE and Monson. It was at M-1 Challenge 35 event that took place on November 15, 2012 in Sankt-Petersburg. Alexander had four-fight winning streak, just a couple months before this fight he won in a bloody war against Konstantin Glukhov. Jeff Monson has already been fighting in Russia for a year, he has won three of his four fights after he was defeated by Fedor. The Snowman was in a very good shape and looked like a very dangerous opponent, especially considering hsi huge experience in MMA and grappling. Also Russian fans fell in love with him when he choose Soviet Union anthem and ”Batyanya combat” song as his entrance music. Fans were expecting the big fight worth the money paid for the tickets.
