Takanori Gomi X-ray
The UFC on Fuel 8 bout between Diego Sanchez and Takanori Gomi generated a lot of controversy when the scorecards were announced and Sanchez was awarded a split decision victory. I considered it the best overall fight of Gomi’s UFC career to date and he should have won the fight clearly. What bothers me is when Sanches behave like an actor and pretends the rest of the world didn’t see him lose the fight. The judges? Yeah most of them are imported from US. The UFC is partially to blame to. The fact other reporters don’t tell you as we are to pretend americans are completely unbiased towards american fighters. And this only applies to MMA judges. Since in other international sports they are always form a third country. Being a ref might be hard but judging is much easier and finding judges is not that difficult.
But it turns out that Gomi turned in the admirable performance even while fighting with a handicap – he broke his right hand in the first round of his bout. He posted an x-ray of the injury in his blog.

Flattr this!
